Friendly leagues, open to everyone

Inclusive, community-run leagues that add a bit of competition for every level. Run quarterly, they're a relaxed way to play more, meet people and test your game.

Three ways to play

Adult social doubles

Teams of 3 · gender-neutral

Grab two friends, workmates or fellow social-night players. Teams can be three men, three women or any mix.

  • Six similar-level teams per division - each team plays every other once.
  • Open to social players; no club or county players.
  • Nine games per match (six per player), each game to 21, no setting - at 20–20 the next point wins.
  • Each game won scores a point for your team. Players book courts to suit them (guide: one court for two hours).

Junior doubles

Ages 11–18

Teams of three juniors, mixed welcome, grouped by playing level so games stay competitive and fair.

  • All levels catered for; groups are based on how you play.
  • Nine games per match (six per player), each to 21, no setting.
  • Players provide shuttles (feather or plastic) and book courts at the junior rate.
  • Every player completes a consent form, and each team picks a name.

Singles

Seniors & juniors 11+

Open to individuals, all levels. Boxes are gender-neutral and grouped by playing level.

  • Matches are best of three sets to 21 with setting - win by two clear points, or first to 30 at 29–29.
  • Wheelchair players use Wheelchair Badminton Rules, including for opponents on the same court unless agreed otherwise.
  • Players provide shuttles and book courts to suit them (guide: one court for one hour).
  • All players complete a consent form; strict rules apply to junior and senior players mixing.
